A long time ago when I was electronic music director at my college radio station (KSTO), I used to put together an essential mix of the newest music that was arriving in our office. This gave DJs a chance to try new stuff and almost guarantee that they'd hit on something great. I must have done a good job because over 10 years later when I checked back in my CD mixes were still sitting in the control room, apparently still being utilized.
I've been painfully compiling mix tapes for my friends since I discovered music. This naturally led into DJing. For me it's always been about making other people fall in love with the same music I love. And there's so much more out there than any person really has time to absorb. It's not about loving the right kind of music, but about appreciation.
So with that as a guiding force I wanted to share music that I've been loving (and usually buying) each month. It will be about discovery across genres and time (but with heavy emphasis on electronic music cause that's my wheelhouse). So without any further blabbering I'm presenting my first monthly Spotify mix.
